“Conservatives need to coalesce, EARLY, around a common acceptable candidate. The failure to do so is what keeps killing us in the primaries. “

Wrong. The problem is your candidates stink. In 2012, your guys were the 999 guy, Newt who carries more baggage than a 747, Sarah who refused to run, Rick “I can barely remember my name” Perry, Michelle Bachman and Rick Santorum.

Get Ted Cruz to run and come in second in 2016 and he is your man in 2020.

To add, a big part of the problem is that with several Conservatives in the race, and only one or two RINO/GOPe ones, other Conservatives who would be better nominees are dissuaded from running. They can figure out that the odds just aren’t in their favor and decide to sit it out.

My fear is that 2016 will come down to Bush, Cruz and Paul, with a very good “consensus Conservative” like Scott Walker either sitting it out or not getting enough traction to go anywhere. Not an endorsement of Walker, just an acknowlegement that it would be good to have him in the primary mix as a viable contender.
