I know quite a few gay people and before the movement began most were happy to be in the closet like Rock Hudson and half of Hollywood and Broadway entertainers. Most of them were extremely talented in singing, playing musical instruments, and dancing. They were always popular with the girls. Most were conflicted and ashamed but became successful in their careers. So I would say that most felt cursed but were blessed by their talents.
And the thing is that most people didnt care! We all knew Boy George was “off”, but he didnt push it on us, and people just enjoyed the music. The guy on Hollywood Squares (name escapes me) was another case. He was funny, obviously gay, and no one cared about that because it wasn’t his mission to make it all that he was.
Yea but gay is not a talented. .singing..dancing..whatever that is a talent that stands on its own...in fact something singing and dancing has a relationship to race..I reject that..a talented. .and ability...stand on it own Independent of other aspect of a person.
Now while gay might be associated with flamboyant, and flamboyant might be part of being a talented. .I would not contend flamboyant equals gay
