Who would innately not be “we”.
My point exactly! Track voter IDs and corresponding votes—any voter for a given topic, “pays” for that.
What hurt me was when both of my kids confessed that it was easier for them to get weed, crack, or meth than beer. When they did get their hands on alcohol, they tended to binge drink.
They had to learn moderation later.
This is the trend with our kids. Rather than being taught that a glass or two of wine is fine with dinner, they chug it down as quickly as possible to avoid the law.
Strangely, the drug dealers don’t seem to care if they’re selling to minors. But the owners of liquor stores do.
Michigan is a disaster.
“Get used to the drinking age going back to 18. The dope pushers will demand it.”
Oh, please. Do you know one person who has never allowed alcohol to touch their lips until the legal age? ONE? If not, then what good is the law? To teach kids that the law is to be ignored if they can avoid getting caught? Yeah. That’s the lesson I want to teach my kids.
The law is stupid and completely ignores reality. This doesn’t have one damn thing to do with weed.
You may be on to something, the day I got my license I became the family chauffeur.
My kid bought me a 6-pack of beer, LEGALLY, when he was 16.
Whoops, forgot to mention, he (and I) were in Europe. Nice that he is considered RESPONSIBLE there, but a MENACE here, thanks to a bunch of CAREER-DRIVEN women who never had the time to properly raise their kids.
However, there's no disputing the fact that if you believe either, you're a brain-dead idiot.
I became legal three times in the state of NY: once when I turned 18 (in February).
In December of that year, NY raised the age to 19, with no grandfathering. And so I was NOT legal for two months. Then, in February I became legal once again.
Two years later, this federal highway funds law was passed, and NY raised the age again, this time to 21. And again, I was not legal for two months. Finally, I turned 21 the following February.
As far as I know, I’ve been legal ever since.
Regards,
PS: The age should be 18.
I TOTALLY agree with you! If parents were PERMITTED to do so, they would be able to teach responsible alcohol consumption at home (or at a restaurant). We allow parents to teach their children to drive cars, don’t we? We allow them to teach them to shoot, don’t we?
But what does the law say about teaching them to drink responsibly, and not like a barbarian? It says we cannot, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. In fact, as you point out, parents can and have gone to jail for doing so.
And so, when they graduate from high school, and go off to college, these young adults have either NO experience with alcohol, OR, they have been “taught” by their equally ignorant and immature peers. Bad idea.
Anyway, you’ve hit the nail on the head, IMO.
Regards,
Carrie blamed an inanimate thing for sin.
