I've got mixed feelings on this topic which are hard to reconcile.

On one hand, Poliquin is absolutely right in the way he pegs this weak sister moderate squish.

On the other hand, the majority of Maine voters are so terminally stupid that they will always vote against any real conservative in a two-way race. New Englanders like to think they are independent, but they aren't.

With the exception of a three way race which elected a decent governor, the only way the GOP can win in Maine is with a weak sister type in the GOPe mold.

Sad, but that's the fact, Jack!

I’m just tired of this phony argument that if you criticize the voting record of YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS, or in any way suggest replacing him or her with ANOTHER REPUBLICAN, then you are trying to get the democrat elected.

It is an intentional argument to shield moderate, democrat-voting republicans.
