It’s Mad Max days up there
Tear down all the derelict structures that are still standing in Detroit, tear up the streets in the vast expanses between the few remaining habitable structures, and plant it all in corn to produce ethanol. The isolated housing units become rural homesteads.
When there is an economic reason to develop the land further, as when a new demand for having a city there is finally determined, then pour money into filling that demand. But as it is, much of Detroit is nothing but a dumping ground for debris of all sorts, with no scheduled pickup dates.
Executive action again. No thanks.
“I have urged President Obama to examine all options for executive action to help the city of Detroit overcome its fiscal challenges, and I am pleased that he is seeking to take positive action,” said Representative John Conyers, a Democrat from Michigan. “I will be discussing further legislative options with my colleagues in Congress.”
Empty, hollow words from an empty, hollow politician. Show up, make pretty speeches and promises, walk away. Things remain the same or get worse. Wash, rinse, repeat.
