The concept of the IUD sounds absolutely horrific. How did the idea of CAUSING AN INFECTION get past the FDA?!!!

This research will be important to further examine once Roe v. Wade is overturned and Pro Life state legislatures enact laws outlawing all abortions, including those induced by hormonal contraceptives.
The whole reason there are little inserts with so many drugs is due to Barbara Seaman fighting against "the Pill" when there were hearings about legalizing it. She was all for contraception but was absolutely right that not only are such drugs and devices misrepresented as being contraceptives, they're just plain too dangerous to allow on the market.
Congress decided that if you let women know they were extremely dangerous and actually worked primarily by causing very early term abortions rather than preventing conception, well, everything would be just fine. Of course literate American women would read the information and make an, "informed decision", about whether or not to use the misnamed, misrepresented, marketed with lies, "contraceptives".
It's even difficult to say, "better late than never" when you see articles like this since studies have shown that on average a woman who relies on this sort of "contraception" will have an average of three conceived infants aborted due to their action during the years she relies on these drugs or devices. Drugs and devices that have had this information included with them since they day they became available. Not exactly what you could call, "invincible ignorance", by any stretch of the imagination.
That means, being very conservative about it, there have in all probability been at least two infants quietly aborted due to the action of these contraceptives for every one assisted abortion performed at an abortion murder center or other facility.
We're at what now, about sixty million assisted abortion? So, do the math.
At the time of implantation, none of the cells are differentiated. The neural tube doesn’t start to form until about the 3rd week after conception, and the heart starts to beat at around the same time. The brain and all organs are present by 5 weeks. Thus, the earliest an embryo could have any level of awareness is sometime between the 3rd and 5th week (weeks after implantation occurs, if it occurs at all).
I am not for restricting the use of any kind of contraceptive on the basis that it might prevent implantation. I’d far rather see pregnancy prevented and abortions avoided.
