A fella I know has sufficient property that he has a long distance shooting range on his own property. He took about 15 trailer tires and tied them together with rope. He shoves the muzzle into the tires, aims and fires. If you are half a mile off to the side, you can barely hear the report. His .50 BMG sounds like a .243. I was really surprised at how effective a bunch of tires could be at reducing the noise.
Perfect, now all I need is to carry 15 trailer tires with my TAC 50!
