Following is a letter I wrote to my congressional delegation.
Feel free to use it to do the same.
1. Heavily Armed, Militarized Federal Agencies
I hope that you are aware of the standoff between heavily armed agents and contractors of the Federal Bureau of Land Management and the rancher Cliven Bundy and his family in Bunkerville, NV. This confrontation came very close to being another Waco. There are some that would say that it came close to starting another civil war.
There is absolutely no need for Bureau of Land Management, Park Rangers, Fish & Game, EPA, IRS, and other myriad agencies to be armed like SWAT teams to confront Americans in full battle array. A simple warrant presented by a local sheriff would have been force enough.
The militarization of these agencies must end. They are reminiscent of the verse from the Declaration of Independence that says about King George, "He hath sent hither swarms of his agents to harass our people and eat out their substance."
While there is no end of people in places of power who wish to disarm the American people, including the president, the arming of Federal agencies with machine guns, armored vehicles, bullet proof vests, explosives, and even tanks, along with billions of rounds of ammunition, continues apace.
The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 forbids the Federal government from using Armed Forces against the American citizenry. This heavy militarization of these federal agencies appears to be an evasion that law.
2. Complicity of Harry Reid and his Family
The confrontation with the Bundy family has brought to light the execrable, blatant corruption of Sen. Harry Reid and members of his family. His son, Rory, has a vested interest in seeking an offset refuge for the "endangered" desert tortoise because of the solar energy project with which he is involved just 35 miles away from the Bundy Ranch.
3. Protection of America's Borders
While the BLM tactical response squad was busy threatening an American ranching family with extermination because their cows were "illegally tresspassing" on "Federal Land", which itself is in dispute, thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants are pouring in across our southern borders, not to mention the blatantly conducted activity of the drug cartels there.
In fact, there is an approximately 80 square mile area in Arizona along the border that is "owned" by the drug cartels. The U.S. government's response to this was to put up signs warning people of the danger of entering into that area. I should think that is where the Federal alphabet agencies would be concentrating their militarized responses. Don't you?
Will not do any good. My congressman is a RAT (Yarmuth).
A good start.
My congressman is a pubbie but a wuz.
Write to it anyway.
They have to know.
Letters and phone calls must pour in.
We need to let them know we are paying attention and that we’re angry about it.
While you’re at it, remind them of the IRS corruption.
Bummer. Yarmuth is nauseating. Even I am better off with my ersatz "conservative" Brett Guthrie.
You all have time to read and post Free Republic.
Certainly you can take a few minutes to fill the ears of your Congressional delegation with your displeasure about the militarization of government agencies and the IRS scandal.
You think it won’t do any good. But if your demonRAT or RINO begins to feel public pressure, they will be compelled to take measures.
The RINOs and RATs will be put off balance by a large response. This will endanger their ability to retain their seats.
Large responses may even garner the attention of news agencies.
If we don’t let them know, then we are COMPLICIT with them in their abuse of power!
It is remarkable how quickly the posters are on the ready to say don’t take the time to send a letter. Write the letter people, those folks in NV need our support while we sit on our behinds behind the computer.
The cowboys and militia contingents in Nevada were willing to give their very lives for your freedoms.
Certainly you can take the time to let your Congressional delegation know where you stand.
Your point is taken.
I guess Mr. Bundy just choose not to follow the laws he disagreed with. If it’s good enough for the Executive Branch, is good enough for the American People.
Perhaps an on line petition?
I don’t know of any on-line petition, but I don’t think those hold as much sway with YOUR representation as a letter or phone call from YOU.
Here is an easy way for you to contact your congressional delegation and to make your voice heard on various bills under consideration.
Please take advantage and make yourself HEARD.
Mercier, I’d bet that 98% of theses folks are A F R A I D to protest to their congresscritters as they believe that THEY will end up on Gov/Co’s “hit list”. History is repeating itself before their very eye’s and they will just sit- and do nothing ....... sad really because American’s could stop this $hit in it’s tracks NOW, if only we would act as one.
I rightly sense sarcasm, but see no tag.
The big problem here is that the situation in Nevada, from what I was able to ascertain, falls not under a SINGLE law passed by Congress. The US vs. Bundy order of last year cites not a SINGLE U.S.C. in US law.
Someone correct me if I’m mistaken. I think that’s telling and a HUGE dichotomy between the actions of the POS WH, its Cabinet and the actions of one man who took a stand against being regulated out of business.
Without respect to ‘regulations’, he broke no law.
Right. The “Chinese Hundred Flowers campaign”. Draw out citizen constructive criticism, and then...arrest them all.

Some idiot in Whited House called it the Thousand Flowers movement - Obama likes the idea. Set the trap and spring it.
Well, see. What did I just post and immediately we see the fearful coming out from under the rocks.
The Chinese, to my knowledge, are not allowed to “sport” arms on their person or in their homes to REJECT the notion of TYRANNY.
The Bundy family followed the laws until the BLM decided to regulate him out of business. That is how they get rid of ranchers, they change the rules of the leases, force ranchers to reduce their herd to the point they have to go out of business or resist at some point.
If you had a store and the government made the decision of how many items you could stock and kept cutting the number of items until you had nothing to sell- then you would understand what they are doing to ranchers all over the West.
