What do the three most recent public opinion polls of Iowa's 2016 Republican presidential caucus have in common?

All three surveys indicate there's no frontrunner in the very early hunt for the GOP presidential nomination in the state that votes first in the race for the White House. And former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee narrowly tops the list of potential candidates in each poll.

Couldn't the vote for Huckabee be that people want to shake things up and not choose someone still in politics?

Keep in mind Huckabee was portrayed in a very negative light by the ptb when they were tossing the nomination to McCain, and Huckabee was gaining momentum.

I don’t know how you could put Huckabee in the same “bowl” with Christie and Bush. Mike Huckabee is about as conservative as you get in Fiscal Matters, Domestic and Foreign Policy and Values. You might want to catch his show on Fox News on Saturday night or his appearances on Saturday Morning Fox and Friends to verify what I have said about him.

It’s all about name ID with uninformed Hawkeyes and pretty much everywhere else too.

Huckabee rhetoric not equal to Huckabee reality

Well at least Christie is out. He is a Rat now (always was, actually). God help us if the best the GOPe can come up with is Huck, Bush, Romney. Are they really TRYING to go belly up?

Didn’t he win the 2008 Iowa caucuses?

Iowa is not a very good predictor.

I agree that on his talk show, he seems conservative, but this is from the CATO institute on his time as governor..”As governor of Arkansas, Huckabee dramatically increased state spending. During his two-term tenure, spending increased by more than 65 percent — at three times the rate of inflation.

The number of government workers increased by 20 percent, and the state’s debt services increased by nearly $1 billion. Huckabee financed his spending binge with higher taxes. Under his leadership, the average Arkansan’s tax burden increased 47 percent, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, including increases in the state’s gas, sales, income, and cigarette taxes. He raised taxes on everything from groceries to nursing home beds”

He also had an open-door policy regarding illegals when he was governor.

So who is your pick? Paul??? Cruz??? Both political animals who will say anything. If not Huckabee, take a look at Walker or Kasich.

I have exactly ONE test for who I will support in 2016.

“Will he jumpstart the economy?”

We’ve got one shot to prove to the new generation of young people that our policies are more realistic and will work. If our next candidate can get things moving, pulls the gov’t back with conservative principles, and gives them the best opportunities for personal growth, we will turn the tide for the next 20 years and open minds on other issues.

We’ll have 26 year olds who came of age during the depression and have never known true opportunity or had hope for wealth. Give us 8 years and they’ll get it once they are actually able to make money, keep it, buy houses, start families, live without such fear...

And if we do manage to take it all and our elected reps screw this up again...

grrrr!

I swear, I’m going to hold a boot to their necks every day that they’re in office. RINO behavior will not be tolerated.

We won't embrace the suck.

I'm not worried about you, gator. I'm worried about impressionable Republican-leaning voters in usually normally inconsequential states like Iowa and New Hampshire.

By the time the primary date for Texas rolls around, the race is over.

Huckabee conservative in fiscal matters? You gotta be kidding. He’s a big gov regulator with no understanding of market economics. He’s made his living off of the offering plate and the tax revs his whole life - until Rupert bailed him out with another non real world job.

You are right, which begs the REAL question here: WTF do we put up with this Iowa New Hampshire start? There’s nothing making us do that.
