We never had show and tell at my school. My only knowledge of it comes from a tv show somewhere in the past.
I believe your local station is allowed to put in as many commercials as they want. Not every station airs the show in its entirety.
Rush was elementary-school-age in the mid-to-late 50s, I started in 1960. I understand it started to go away in the 70s, especially bi-coastally. It probably still exists in pockets of flyover country.
I’m older than you. You seem to think that every school did this based on your personal experience. Bad logic.
Between the fifteen minute identity theft commercials and the daily "teenager from _______", who has had a "life changing experience" as a result of reading Rush Revere while drinking his Two if by Tea, the show's getting hard to listen to.
IMO it all started when Rush married Katherine. I understand that he probably has some other stuff to do now, but the show prep went to he11 after he got married. He's started taking phone calls for about a third of the show and it's gone south from there.
I still listen now and then, but he's not nearly as sharp as he was a few years ago.
It’s not bad logic when it merits a listing in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary. Seems closer to a cultural commonality or touchpoint for those in school post-1950. Sorry you missed out.
That's the new format of advertising.....From Lincoln automobiles to Joe's Roofing Company and Sam's Heating and Cooling, all the local radio show hosts are doing it too.
That's just the way it is.........
Elementary school teachers are generally not that bright. But they don’t need to be. I love my children’s elementary teachers, and each of them would love to have copies of Rush’s books. They would even let me read them to the classes. :)
After his rehab years ago, he did well for awhile. I remember the change.
Now he's back to self bloviating, selling what ever, and quite frankly, boring.
Haven't listened for quite some time.
FMCDH(BITS)
Just remember that this administrasion may have threatened to pull his fcc licence which is also why he never went too deep on the birth cert issue either. Crooked bastards
I for one applaud his efforts to educate our children with historical truth instead of the BS being taught in our public 'screwels'. Hearing the stories is encouraging to me and I consider proper education of our children to be one of the utmost serious issues of the day.
That is very magnanimous of you, but we won't have a country left for our children with the likes of Zero and his endless executive orders and uncontested, illegal law changes. And, he still has three years to go.
Please get your ducks in a row.
We need Rush on point every day!
I know. Rush discusses these points. I could have missed something though because I only listen to Rush on weekdays that end in 'y'.
Later...
maybe he mentioned us because he’s trying to win us back after many of us left him for ignoring the Bundy Ranch story....
