He's probably also having difficulty raising money.

he hasn’t had a republicn challenger ina loooooooooong time. he sees how wi is going and he’s not tea party/conservative.

He has no issue with money considering the NRCC dolls out where they think or need an incumbent to win. Add to that, the incumbent protection racket would have netted him millions over the time he has been there, especially since he went unchallenged in primaries.

The reality is that all of these guys have their own internal polling people on staff, paid for by you and me, and their internal polling must look horrible. So why make the effort and in the mean-time, find a way to ferret out that war chest to a private account under his control for the retirement years that the Congreess-critter retirement bennies wouldn’t cover.

With a Congress that is virtually assured to stay in the control of the GOP in numbers, sure are a lot of high ranking members who are willing to throw in the towel lately. Something big is stirring up and we all feel it too.
