With respect to a meaningful federal budget, Sarah Palin needs to include compliance with Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers somewhere in her critique too.

Hardly anyone mentions that slice of the Constitution. Yet it’s the key point in any budget/spending/debt/deficit discussion. Were it followed as Madison intended, the federal government would probably be a third of its present size.
