One good thing about the Cobalt is that it has taken everyone’s mind off the disaster that is the Volt.

“When GM folded Saturn under GM corporate”... You mean from the beginning?

I live just 15 miles north of the Saturn plant and worked at the hotel in Nashville they used to bring in all the new dealers and orientate them on the “new kind of car company”.

Almost immediately after starting construction in Spring Hill, TN they broke a promise (all lies actually) that ALL employees would come from the local area. They instead moved hundreds from Michigan (all UAW members) because the UAW threatened other plants with walk outs, strikes, slow downs, etc. if THEY weren’t hired instead.

Then their lies about only buying from local suppliers that moved into the area anticipating business was over about a month later when they announced many parts would be brought in from other UAW controlled plants.

One big lie from the beginning. Now here in middle TN we have a bunch of semi-retired and retired UAW union thugs running around with Obama stickers and whining all the time.

That’s an interesting observation. I’ve noticed that I seem to see a lot of mostly domestic cars with one or another exterior light burned out. My 2004 Honda Accord, which I’m about to sell (bought a ‘11 Nissan Murano), still has all its original bulbs in it other than the one high beam bulb and one map light bulb which I replaced a couple of weekend ago. Honestly, I don’t know where Honda USA sourced these bulbs from that are so long-lasting, but obviously some companies are not sourcing bulbs which are as good.

walk outs, strikes, slow downs, etc

Where UAW types are concerned, how could you tell labor action from just another day at the plant?

See what happens when Unions control the product? The workers just want goodies and do not care about the things they make.
