Colorados gun restrictions go to trial
DENVER Colorados new gun restrictions went on trial Monday as Second Amendment advocates seek to overturn the laws on grounds that they violate constitutional rights to keep and bear arms.
An attorney for the state defended the ammunition magazine limits and expanded background checks, saying the measures were a suitable response to high-profile shooting rampages.
In his opening statement, Deputy Attorney General Matthew Grove noted Colorados tortured history with mass shootings, from the Columbine High School attack in 1999 to the Aurora movie theater massacre in 2012. He also mentioned the shooting spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in 2012.
Responding to such events last year, Colorados elected representatives made a policy decision to pass two pieces of legislation that appropriately balances the state publics safety concerns with the respect of the Second Amendment rights of citizens, Grove said.

Oh goody-—these measures will assure that there will be no more school shootings!
These people are so lame ..
I want documented and verifiable proof that the 16th bullet in CO and the 11th bullet in CT is the one that kills innocent children.
Passing laws based on emotion is a cover for a far more nefarious intent that will denied with howling instant ridicule and racist claims countermeasures.
And most of them were California infiltrators. THe invasion started back in the early 80's and continues to this day. The Colorado I lived in doesn't exist any longer.
I used to hear how “perfect” living in CA was-—from the glorious weather to the beautiful ocean, lakes and streams with some mountains thrown in for good measure.
I live in Texas—and we are now seeing what you watched happening—except a lot of our “invaders” are from South of the Border—down Mexico way .
Civilians have virtually never, if ever at all, required more than 15 rounds to effectively defend themselves, he said.
A similar transformation is happening here in Virginia. You cannot keep the infestations out.

Another dishonest attorney willing to prostitute themselves instead of up holding the constitution.
Right. Except for (at least) three little things counselor: these {expletive} infringements upon our rights would not have done anything to prevent these shootings and deaths. These {expletive} POS you call "laws" will not do anything to prevent the next shooting. These {expletive} examples of unconstitutional over-reach are absolutely un-enforceable. Even the Sheriffs agree.
These people just pull things out of their a$$.
Yepper! One illegal Mexican swimming the river OR one Liberal/Marxist/socialist/high tax loving Californian at a time the math, sooner or later will catch up with Texas.
Colorado ping.

Remember thIS bumper sticker from 1973?
DON’T CALIFORNICATE COLORADO!
Well, they have!
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
I grew up outside of Boulder. I should have studied the traitor's techniques and fought them decades ago. Chickenpooper is trying to basically change Kolorado into their version of utopia like Barry is. They love agenda 21 and bankrupting future generations for some warped point of vies. 3 bureaukrauts were removed form office and the demoRats are change the recall laws to keep themselves in office.
Most mass shootings are committed by people who have drivers’ licenses. Get rid of drivers’ licenses.
Right, and they breath air and drink water. So what?
Agreed.
Yes, I remember that bumper sticker. I liked the one that said “Welcome to Colorado, now go home”
