“The emergency beacon came from a fishing vessel and the nature of the distress call is unknown.” It could have been an accidental activation of an EPIRB or an actual boat in distress signal. The frequency would tell them it is not from an airplane. (EMERGENCY POSITION INDICATING RADIOBEACON) - Tom
