You may blame me for relativism but crony capitalism is a HUGE improvement over full communism and socialism of all colors.

“You may blame me for relativism but crony capitalism is a HUGE improvement over full communism and socialism of all colors.”

Not when they steal what is rightfully others property. Russia took ALL of Ukrainian crops, and intentionally starved 7-10 million Ukrainian people. More recently, they took their natural gas, and now they're taking their land and shipping ports. You give the Russian Oligarchs entirely too much credit.

Every nation, and as much community determines much to do with wages, especially those of entry level. Costs of living come into view as well as nations differ in the makeup of their nations.

But those In Russia , and now Crimea, have a better life and will be better than which Ukraine offers now or in the past. Ukraine has already lowered social services and cut many government workers....I believe also pensions, if not now soon.

The US has lost much of it’s blue color jobs as we know. What do we produce? So much are services today, from Gov. to Heathcare and such.

It’s striking the many things Obama and others state against Putin when they themselves do likewise. There is so much propaganda out there today that one can barely know the truth about anything anyone states.

However it’s clear from most of the Russian people they are very pleased with Putin....he’s done wonders for their national pride....something we could use huge doses of anymore.

Russia....”they’re every bit as imperialist as the USA has ever been.”........

Well, considering they're just 15 years or so away from the crash of their country....I have to say they've come far since Putin took office. Regardless that Yes, he's a huge controller and more than tough, but I do think with Russia's years of suppression and so little benefit to the people...they needed someone they could respect and look up to to bring them above their fall. No matter how lavish his own life might be the people are still benefiting economically.

Putin has always sought acceptance into the International Community....I think he learned along the way what he had to do to earn that. However, he will never sacrifice his agenda or desire for Russia, and himself, for International Leaders approval unless he stands to gain by it more than he looses. I may not like the man, nor trust him, but I do respect that he stands for what he wants and that of his nation....unlike our Pres. and Congress who sells us to the highest bidder one way or another for nothing in return.

By the way.....US sending 10 million to Moldova of all places! So sick of running to countries who fail to build their own capital and their own protection.....and the EU pleads poverty when it comes to them coughing up the big bucks!

Russia also has photos of the snipers on rooftops shooting their own people from the maiden right sector.....as I've mentioned before...In Ukraine there are no good players, all parties are using thug-ocracy to achieve their desired end.

There's no way the ragtag bunch of protesters had snipers on rooftops, with Kiev being full of Bekrkut riot police. That's just another lie in a sea of lies by the Putin propaganda machine. Recall that the unmarked Russian soldiers without any insignias were said to be “local militias” protecting the Russian occupants of Crimea? Lie upon lie, by Putin.

And you think Russia is the only one with a propaganda machine operating in these affairs?

We all know there's a propaganda war and all sides are playing....besides...Ukraine is a done deal IMO....same with Crimea. The US and Russia are the diplomat's determining how Ukraine will go...with the Eu basically assisting when called on.

Oh there will be flareups, there always has been in Ukraine. But the deals are done and the Ukrainians will have the same Oligarchs they've always had...look who's running. Two who will be happy to work with Russia and the USA and supported by the US and EU.

If you consider crony capitalism or fascism an improvement. You are already too far gone.

You must accept Obama as a hero, right?

Not attacking you, but, it's pretty arrogant to think that the Ukrainians are like automatons without any ability for independence, or self determination at all. How the hell did we as a nation manage to have a revolution and wind up being free from Britain, surely others have the same right to be free from both Russian AND European Imperialism. But its easy to see where Ukraine's sympathies lie in this photo.

You are far overreaching with such a scholastics. First of all I wasn’t talking about fascism at all and as far as you think of crony capitalism as exactly as bad as full communism do you really believe that America is as bad as North Korea since Obama become a president?
Why won’t you move to North Korea?

Sorry we've already been through this on post 12 of this very thread.

If ya want to assign blame for the Holodomor it goes to Stalin, Soviet Communism, and Western MSM, so you go after Georgia, Soviet Communists or the New York Times not Russians, Putin or Russian media, who had nothing to do with it.

Additionally Russia has loads of gas herself and doesn't take, or need Ukraine gas while Ukraine has repeatedly accepted Russian gas and reneged on payment after selling the gas at whopping profits. Ukraine still owes Russia while raking in hundreds of millions from the West.

Finally Russia has a legal lease on the Ukrainian port, and the Crimean are more legal in leaving Maidan, than Maidan was in leaving Yanukovych.

The Russian government is a bunch of damn thieves and liars. They broke their port leases with Ukraine, after they stole the ports.

http://www.holodomorct.org/history.html
Russia refuses to acknowledge the genocide that was committed in Ukraine. Russia =Soviet Soviet=Russia, and Soviets rule was from Moscow.

In November 2006, the Ukrainian parliament passed a bill proclaiming the Holodomor a genocide and making Holodomor denial “unlawful.” An escalation of rhetoric followed; a 2007 statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry accused “certain political circles” in Ukraine of insulting the memory of non-Ukrainian famine victims. Since then, the pro-government Russian press has published dozens of articles assailing Ukraine’s stance on the Holodomor as an insidious anti-Russian ploy.

“Although the Russian government continues to call Ukraine’s depiction of the famine a “one-sided falsification of history,” it is recognized as genocide by approximately two dozen nations, and is now the focus of considerable international research and documentation.”

To buttress my point that the Soviet Union first depleted Ukrainian gas reserves:

http://csis.org/blog/russia%E2%80%99s-gas-clash-ukraine-geopolitics-or-just-money

“The battle of the oligarchs behind the gas dispute.

FTA- “The Financial Times’ Jerome Guillet and John Evans point out that while Russia has the gas supplies, most of Russia’s export pipelines and storage capacity were built by the Soviet Union in Ukraine. Ukraine relies on gas from Russia to fuel its heavy industry as it has depleted most of its own reserves.

The authors argue that Gazprom has long understood that Ukraine would never pay for official gas deliveries; as a result, complicated, opaque deals were made at high political and business levels.”

Some cannot see further than the Stalin years...certainly Russia today is a far cry from that time. Though no doubt residual affects remain reminding those who knew that era all to well.

There’s been much debate for years over the “starvation” issue.....from my understanding it was a many varied issue...from those who resisted Stalins agenda, thereby positioning themselves for starvation...to the varied groups at that time who are simply thugs...and still are today.

Ukraine seems to always be more a lawless nation than anything else. And they continue to “keep” the people in Gov. office who hurt their nation. Just as we see now happening.

I don’t have too much hope for Ukraine overall.....the EU is NOT the way to go.....they will never invest in the country, as we see now. They will use Ukraine at best....they have to have the oil pipelines open....there is no quick fix for years.... No nations are prepared to in any way replace the oil lines that go through Ukraine, they simply can’t, and Putin’s already planned how to bypass Ukraine entirely for oil distribution...so they really cooked their own goose.

I understand your desire for Ukraine, but it's not going to happen the way they want. I'm sorry but they do lack the ability to be on their own.... at best it will be a neutral area which will have no choice but to work with the EU and Russia.

Just look at who is running for President and who the people are supporting.....same agenda...same faces.... that brought them to where they are today. Broke and faltering, in need of being rescued...and few willing to do more than sustain the status quo. Politics is nasty business and Ukraine power hungry leaders are in it for their own win. Nothings changed in that respect..nor will it.

You know of course who runs Ukraine is not up to the Ukrainian people?
