The foreign automakers also benefited from cheaper, non-unionized labor. Earlier this year, workers at the Volkswagen plant near Chattanooga, Tenn., refused a vote to organize, even with management's blessing.....................UAW thugs must be upset.

Not in the news yet but friends that work at VW in Chattanooga said they will also be expanding. Management has told them they will also be getting the SUV line of VW’s at the site.

will create another line at the plant, producing the X7, a larger SUV with three rows of seats similar to a Cadillac Escalade. In other words a mini-van at triple the price.

I bought a house in Beaufort SC when the housing bubble popped as my retirement home, glad to see a state like SC attract this kind of investment.

BMW helps the Upstate keep hummin' right along!

BMW helps the Upstate keep hummin' right along! BMW make all its SUVs in the USA for all its markets! That's right, not only are the making SUVs for the USA, but exporting to Europe and other markets. WHY, because it makes sense to build SUVs in its largest SUV market and where the most innovation in these vehicles are!!!
I wonder in German Blog forum if Germans are hating on BMW for investing in the US and "sending jobs oversees"?

From the article:
BMW said it will hire 800 additional workers, bringing total employment at the plant to 8,800 people.
