Article V Convention has passed the Wisconsin Assembly and is before the Wis. State Senate right now. Wisconson Grandsons of Liberty (a Patriot group) is asking that we all call our State Senators PLUS Senator Glenn Grothman and ask that they vote for AJR81 and AB635 to stop runaway federal spending. They say that Grothman is the key to the process so we need to contact him, as well as out own Senator. 23 states have already passed this measure.

FReep mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

Here is the explanation of the Wisconsin proposal:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We need your help, and no; we are NOT asking for money! We just need 5 minutes of your time.

You are all aware that the federal government's spending has gotten out-of-control. The debt ceiling is being raised every year. The creditworthiness of the US federal government has been downgraded for the first time in its history. Where will this end? We think you already know and what's more, that you also already know what impact it will have on you and on your family.

So what do we do about this mess? Well, electing "more constitutional" people to Congress has not solved the problem - there are unfortunately not enough of them in Congress and not enough time left to stop the coming fiscal train wreck. The federal government is NEVER going to limit itself; neither in terms of political power nor through exercising fiscal restraint.

So who can? The answer is the States have the power constitutionally to rein in the federal spending.

The Framers of our US Constitution included a mechanism in our Constitution that permits the States to go around Congress and the President - and it can be used to limit spending and reduce debt. It is the Article V Convention (AVC) process whereby the States can meet to PROPOSE, DEBATE and FORWARD to all the States for ratification a PROPOSED BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT (BBA). It is a little more complicated but that is the basic design of the Article V Convention process.

To date, 23 states (Michigan passed their AVC application last week and Tennessee passed theirs the week before that) have applied to Congress for an Article V Convention specifically to discuss a Balanced Budget Amendment. We need 34 states. Wisconsin has a bill, AJR81, which passed the Assembly in February but needs to pass the State Senate next week! We need your help.

We are asking you to take 5 minutes to call your State Senator and tell them to vote FOR AJR81 and AB635 - these are the bills that apply for the Article V Convention and set the rules for selecting Wisconsin delegates. Then call State Senator Glenn Grothman and ask that he vote FOR AJR81 and AB635 - he is the key to this process. Just 5 minutes of your time to take an important step to STOP the runaway federal spending that is bankrupting our nation.

If you are unsure about Article V Conventions or the Wisconsin bills or just want more details, go to our website, www.wisconsingrandsonsofliberty.com, where you can find our "Article V Convention FAQs" that will answer any question which you may have. And if there is a question that you have which we have not answered, email us and we will get you an answer!

Exercise your constitutional right to petition government and take a stand against out-of-control spending before it is too late. You can make a difference with a couple of phone calls - today!

Thank you in advance for your effort to save this nation from ruin!

-Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty

Do you know why GOL are particularly asking us to contact Sen. Glenn Grothman?
