Sarah Palin Endorses Florida's Lizbeth Benacquisto for U.S. Congress

This week, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin vowed to roll out her "Mama Grizzlies" endorsements, and she endorsed conservative Florida Senate Majority Leader Lizbeth Benacquisto on Wednesday for the FL-19 U.S. House seat. Palin called Benacquisto a "proven conservative" with an "unwavering commitment to the principles of our Founders and to the sanctity of life."

The congressional primary will be held on April 22nd. The general election for the seat being vacated by Rep. Trey Radel (R-FL) will be on June 24th.

Palin called Benacquisto the only conservative in the race and, as a bonus, touted her as a candidate who can help Republicans neutralize Democrats' attempts to malign Republicans with the false "war on women" rhetoric. Palin has made a point of emphasizing that Democrats did not dare use the "war on women" rhetoric when the women-led Tea Party movement and her Mama Grizzlies candidates helped the GOP take back the House and capture governorships (see: South Carolina, New Mexico) in the historic 2010 midterm elections.

"Lizbeth Benacquisto is the only proven conservative in the race. She served her constituents well and has never forgotten who put her in office – the people," Palin wrote. "Lizbeth will take these values to Washington to fight for us all."

Palin also said that Benacquisto has "a record that demonstrates a willingness to take on special interests and rein in the scope of government." She called her a "fierce advocate for her constituents" who has "introduced and pushed through legislation to protect our senior citizens."

Benacquisto revealed in 2010 that she was raped at 19 years of age, and Palin cited this as an example of her "personal triumph over hardship and staunch defense of life."

Palin has had success over the past with her endorsements. If nothing else I hope
she can help win the senate back and keep or increase the House control.

Some of her past results:

Yes, Mama Grizzlies are - as the name suggests - some tough conservative chicks. But Governor Palin does not only endorse women:

“As Breitbart News has reported, Palin has endorsed Ben Sasse, Chris McDaniel, and T.W. Shannon for Senate this cycle in Nebraska, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, respectively. Shannon told Breitbart News that Palin’s endorsement brings “more than money can buy,” and his poll numbers prove it. Shannon was trailing his opponent by 35 points and now is within single digits in a poll taken four days after Palin’s endorsement.”

Unfortunately, Kelly Ayotte was one of the gov’s original “Mama Grizzlies.” She didn’t turn out so well.

True, but Palin has also said that it is up to the voters to keep their pols on their toes. If they disappoint, throw them out.

I would vote for her.

I’m in Naples Fl for a while. This primary is maybe the ugliest I’ve ever seen. Her two opponents are throwing out every insult and accusation possible.

So far she seems to be above it but the other two are accusing their opponents of being criminals, unindicted felons, thieves, liars, closet democrats, you name it.

Not a Reagan inspired race....that’s for sure.

Yeh and now Palin is sticking her nose in GA’s senate primary pushing a moderate instead of one of the two more conservative candidates. She’s not winning any points with me this week.

Nobody is going to keep a die hard RINO pols in line. You reject them before you vote for them.

Die hard RINOs will step on our toes and will not feel bad about it.

Liz seems good on immigration even though Diaz Balart and Chaffetz endorsed her.

Palin is not going to endorse Handel in 2010 and then not endorse her in the 2014 cycle. That just wouldn't make sense.

So she's 23?

Progressives claim how Governor Sarah Palin is irrelevant yet devote all day every day to spewing vitriol about her. Why? If she is so irrelevant? Now it appears Gov. Palin is again on a roll, the candidates endorsed are all quality people, they have excellent chances of winning.

I think progressives are so afraid of Gov. Palin that they think of nothing else but stopping her and her message.

The Palin message, the progressives’ worst nightmare.

“Mama Grizzlies” were cool back in 2010, but after Ayotte went bad, they’ve worn thin, since it seems that Palin is starting to prioritize gender in making her endorsements. I can’t go along with that. It’s Conservativism that should be the priority, not gender.
