A major political scandal unraveled in Charlotte Wednesday as Patrick Cannon resigned as Charlottes mayor after federal investigators arrested him on bribery and corruption charges.
Documents outline how agents said the mayor abused his power for years.

This somehow has to be Bush’s fault.
Maybe, when we post things like out here, we should automatically put “Democrat” in the title; that way, when the cretins name is searched on, “Democrat” comes up in the search.
The media puts “GOP” right up front whenever an R does something.... for instance:
“GOP candidate for Calif. governor is sex offender, served decade in jail for manslaughter”

He’s only been mayor for like six months....prior to that head of the city council. It sounds like he helped to hinder folks until they arranged for some bribe deal. He’s been hooked up to the city council for around twenty years. Lot of cash flow. I’m guessing if he doesn’t cooperate and name names....that fifty year threat might be a reality.
Resigned as mayor. Absolute power corrupts and corrupts absolutely.
He had no business accepting cash for official favors.
Hopefully this will stop some voter fraud in the November election in North Carolina.
Typical DIMocRAT...typical.
Not to worry. Fauxbama’s “ofa” is hard at work recruiting new communist er, I mean community, organizers. Vote early, vote often. :>}
I'm grateful he is being outed early before he put Charlotte on the path to Detroit. Mecklenburg county has enough problems already.
He will receive a pardon in 2016.
On the other hand saying that the mayor of a large city is a Democrat is usually redundant.
It should be obvious by now.
If it is a ‘Pubbie it will be mentioned in the first paragraph and repeatedly through out the article. Example “Republican Congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham.”
IF it the accused or guilty party is a Democrat, it will be mentioned once only, somewhere within the article, but seldom in the first paragraph because many folks just scan that for the summary.
It wasn't until I read about him in Stars and Stripes, while I was on Okinawa that I heard of him, again.
You have to wonder, if Washington can corrupt him, is there ANYONE we can trust to be honest?
Does anyone know of a “Pepsi Challenge” type website or post that shows the number of dems vs the number of republicans who’ve been busted over the last 20 years?
I don’t know for certain, but I’m guessing there’s been substantialy more dems busted than republicans.
