It’s simply unfortunate that the time of March 29th for ‘earth hour’ conflicts with Science and Engineering Achievement Day when we turn on everything electrical and gas powered that we can and celebrate all that good things that energy has wrought us. (It’s also the day when I conduct my annual electrical stress test.)

I saved and invested all my working life, so that in retirement I could be comfortable. That means it's as cool as I want it to be in my house in the summer and as warm as I want to be in the winter. The bills come and I pay them.

No damn'd green weenie is going to tell me to "conserve" energy, for the planet.
