(CNSNews.com) - Donald Rumsfeld, who served as U.S. Defense Secretary under President George W. Bush, blames poor diplomacy by the Obama administration for the current strained relations with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
"Our relationship with Karzai and with Afghanistan was absolutely first-rate in the Bush administration," Rumsfeld told Fox News's Greta Van Susteren on Monday. "It has gone down hill like a toboggan ever since the Obama administration came in."

Rumsfeld noted. "A trained ape can get a status of forces agreement,"

If Obama WANTED to destroy all US Foreign relations, how could he have done better?

Except Rumsfeld is an -absolute idiot- to think Karzai was ever anything but a paid puppet. He has never had actual ties with us beyond enjoying the bribes and the US protection.

Our government is utterly naïve and retarded. Both parties.

Simple: Karzai couldn’t play Bush, he can play Obama.

Next question?

Always liked “The Rumstermeister”!!!

Speaks his mind, speaks it plainly, and says the truth.

Oddly enough... that’s exactly what we’re missing.

“Our relationship with Karzai and with Afghanistan was absolutely first-rate in the Bush administration,”

It’s hard to actually think of a stupider thing to say. The boy molester culture did nothing but rope a dope on the USA. There was never even the slightest chance they would become civilized, and abandon their hillbilly variant of islam.

Karzai is a dictator and the most important thing in the world to him is the Poppy crop. While Karzai has said “I Love Russia”, Russia has been livid about all the heroin coming into Russia.

Once Obama signed the treaty that gave Karzai 2 Billion dollars a year there was no reason to be nice.

I agree that Karzai is no friend of America.

I expect him to flee the country with billions of American dollars within days of our final pull out.

Obama is a weak President , weakness invites provocativeness. Foreign ‘leaders’ don’t mind provoking him , they don’t respect him , they see him as a weak man trying to weaken his own country from the least honorable of reasons .

While many can feel comfortable blaming Obama , I blame those that voted for him , twice . I also blame those that failed to vote against him , withholding their support for McCain or Romney , leading to this national nightmare .

In upcoming elections Conservative patriots need to get a lot more proactive ; telling their friends and family members that if they stupidly vote for Socialist national leadership it will cost them your friendship . Forever . There must be a cost , a price , that is exacted . Enough with careless voting with no personal repercussions . THEY are the ones to blame ....they gave us these outcomes . Now to walk away whistling ? I think not .

"Our relationship with Karzai and with Afghanistan was absolutely first-rate in the Bush administration"

While it is surely worse under this administration, Rumsfeld is engaging in revisionist history.

So, are you saying that individuals (and nations) tend to act in their own vested self-interests?

Wow! That sounds like — well, it sounds like the real world.

Why are you so shocked?

Rumsfeld isn't the idiot here. If anything, Rumsfeld would have been the puppet master, and Karzai would dance, when Rumsfeld pulled his strings. It's Obama, and members of his regime, who are the self-deluded idiots here.
