There is quite simply no worse place in the world for American soldiers than Sub Saharan Africa. Iran?
Crimea?
Afghanistan?
Believe me, though I have never been to any of the above places, Northern Uganda/Southern Sudan are better places to be as a US soldier.

Southern Sudan has a very tropical climate with lots of rain and humidity. Not much is worse then the jungle.
