Leave it to the Republican Party to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
While nearly every poll definitively affirms that Democrats are in deep doo-doo come November, and as leftist talking heads like Chris Matthews have already conceded a likelihood that Republicans will take the Senate in the 2014 mid-term elections, many of the GOPs highest profile personalities obtusely refuse to take yes for an answer. Theyre evidently hell-bent on disenfranchising the partys pejoratively tagged social issues majority.
Stupid, stupid and stupid.
From mealy mouthed moderate establishment-types like Chris Christie, to dovish libertine libertarians like Rand Paul, it seems a majority of the GOP rock stars are scared gutless to set a single yellow-nailed pinky toe on the fevered culture war battlefield. They say its time to raise the white flag on traditional values.
Guys, Im here to tell you, the social issues arent going away. But keep up this fatalistic nonsense and the GOPs Christian-conservative base just might. Morality-minded Americans are sick of it, and we will choose fidelity to principle over surrender to ill-perceived pragmatism every time.

The title (which I mangled) is “Is the GOP suicidal?”
Just keep voting in conservatives into the GOP until the vast majority of the party is conservative. Then maybe this stuff will stop. Maybe.
The fiscal issues ARE social issues. Man up. Be Conservative. It's the way to win.
Its naive to think the same people who put Bam bam in office are connected to the GOP power players.
Its naive to think the same people who put Bam bam in office are NOT connected to the GOP power players.
If he’s asking “Will the GOP support a conservative candidate with all their money and resources?” - I think everyone knows the answer.
Just the other day their were a number of FReepers posting the same thing. As long as they leave my money I don’t care about the social issues.
Money will not save the Republic. The Founders themselves declared that a Republic can not last if it’s people do not have a strong faith in Judeo-Christian ethics.
Freedom of religion and freedom of speech are hardly just “social issues” and abortion is murder in most cases however you slice it. I see a lot of threat to my speech rights in the gay agenda, not to mention government expense. I don’t want religious dogma taught as fact in public schools. I doubt I’m along.
Both parties are not conservative enough. Rebellion starts at the grass-roots. Work to encourage conservatives to come forward and run in either party or as independents. Research the candidates. Then vote and elect the best conservative candidates.
Start with your local dog catcher and work your way up the food chain.
It takes the GOP to strengthen the RATs.
I forgot, get your children (grown ones too) involved in the process of finding the best conservative candidates.
Young kids need to know what elected officials do and how it affects their lives. After all, they are the ones (besides us) who are going to have live and suffer with the mess the Obamas have bequeath to them. It will be left for the next generation to change the liberal policies of this generation.
Remember the liberal socialists want the minds of your children. As the Lone Ranger used to say: “Head’em off at the pass”.
Very true! Proof of that is the fact that most divorces are over issues of money. That is just one of many symptomatic examples of how fiscal problems corrode society. The one feeds the other in a downward spiral.
