Did they wait until the guy was 93 years old before arresting him?

I wonder if he met Obama’s uncle that liberated Auschwitz.

Because it took photo recognition software to pierce his new identity.
There have been a string of articles about this case.

Like most cowards, Nazis tend to hide from their atrocities. It takes time to catch them and verify their identity.string his old ass up.

Good. Who’s gonna try him, judges from former East Germany?

This may very well be the last trial of a Nazi war criminal. I can’t imagine that there will be many more after this.

Good point. I wonder if they can get him to talk.

Agreed. Too bad East Germany and the other Warsaw Pact countries didn’t prosecute their monsters.

There’s never been a Communist Nuremberg, and it’s more needed than ever.

In a couple of more years and they’ll have to dig them up to arrest them.

I think ultimately the "proof" against Demjanjuk depended on the validity of an identity card helpfully provided by the KGB.

It would be interesting to know if the current case involves an ethnic German--they seem to be much more zealous in going after alleged collaborators who are non-Germans.

Someone who was 18 when the war ended would be 87 now.

And of course the KGB would never forge anything would they?

Funny how the Germans were all gung ho for prosecuting a Ukrainian, even after the Israelis found him not guilty.
