I did a search on Saila “born” 1961 (as a first try to find one about Barry’s age) and found a Swedish Member of Riksdag (parliament), Saila Quicklund. She is blond and blue-eyed, and is VERY easy on the eyes. It might be a while before I can look into whether she was in Chicago in 1988...

Near the bottom, he writes “Siene” and the bottom of the ‘S’ swings over , right into the top of the ‘i’.
In “Sheila”, he brings the bottom of the ‘S’ straight up the the top of the ‘h’, which he then brings straight down. The it comes back up to the right at a 45 degree angle. It then comes down and curves back up and loops around completing a squished ‘e’. A number of his lower case ‘e’ are like that.
If the vertical line at the right of the ‘S’ is not the start of an ‘h’ the what it it. If it’s a ‘G’, it’s a VERY strange ‘G’. Or a figure ‘8’?
The ‘a’ in ‘mail’ is not the same as the character in the disputed name. Look at the ‘a’ in ‘maddening’ and ‘political.’ He makes them the same way he maid the ‘a’ in ‘mailbox.’ Some of his ‘a’ he writes the normal way. That is, he starts at the top and goes counter-clockwise around until he hits the starting point and then he curves back down to the right, as in ‘wander’ and ‘painter.’
But, since he is left-handed, that is probably awkward for him, so he makes other of his ‘a’ by coming in from the bottom and going counter-clockwise more than all the way around, but just a bit past there, he changes direction and moves the pen into the next letter. As in ‘mailbox’, ‘maddening’, and ‘political.’
Now look again at the first ‘a’ in your ‘Gaila’. It is not all all like the ‘a’ in ‘mailbox.’ I comes in low from the left and loops all the way around, but doesn’t make that little hitch as he does in ‘mailbox.’ As far as I can tell, only one of his ‘e’, the second one in ‘seen’ looks like an the ‘a’ in ‘mailbox.’ They are smooth, while the ‘a’ often have the hitch. The one in ‘mailbox’ needs it since it has to go over to the right to start the ‘i’.
The little loop to the left of the ‘i’ in the name is clearly different from his letter ‘a’. It is ‘e’, which follows ‘h’.
Excuse my misspellings and incorrect words. I was typing as fast as I could so I didn’t lose my train of thought.

Thanks for the information- I was not familiar with that site, I actually found the article at texasconservativenews.com. I began having misgivings about the site after my post and then looking around there. I will not go back there again.

This is the paper supporting the pro-abortion, pro-gay “Nuns on a Bus,” the anti-Catholic advocacy group SNAP that took advantage of the (gay) priest scandal, and the multitudinous Planned Parenthood front organizations that have the word “Catholic” (not copyrightable, I guess) in their names, such as “Catholics for a Free Choice.”
Its all about fund raising. If zero looks good with the pope its X number of dollars into the regimes coffers all that count. Plus maybe buy a few more votes with hispanos.

Of course, it would be crazy to search for Sheila due to the large numbers. It would also be crazy to search for Saila and Gaila since they don't exist. They are only the figment of incorrect handwriting analysis.
I realize that odds are the “S..la” person is somebody who never became anyone “important” enough to have a strong web presence and/or wikipedia article. Nevertheless, Sheila Nix and Sheila Simon were up and coming Illinois dems around the right time frame.
Of those two, Sheila Simon was born in 61 but is the much less likely possibility, because it looks as though the Land of Lincoln Legal Services where she would have worked in those days was downstate from Chicago. Also, she was already married to someone by else 1989, and I think the postcard was from ‘88.
Sheila Nix, however, has been heavily involved in the Obama machine and was a Chicago native. In her case, though, I haven’t yet gathered any of the basic details about her family background. As far as I know she too was already married by the late 80s. Or perhaps there’s a significant age difference between her and Barack.
Just getting some thoughts out there. I don’t personally feel convinced there are sordid skeletons lurking in the shows behind that minuscule reference to this name on the postcard. Still it’s nice to see more details come together about who Barack really was, instead of being left with only his “composite” sketches.
Oh, scratch Sheila Simon altogether. She was married in 1987.
