I think the US’s best strategy would be to make common cause with Russia , and work with it as an ally , not to resume a confrontational ,adversarial relationship . I do not think Putin is seeking a return to the insanity of communism , which the entire world including Russians has seen is an utter failure and does not work . Rather , he is a strong nationalist and seeks a strong Russia , with allied states at her borders . Don’t we want the same thing ? I have complete contempt for this fuzzy , submissive , ideological metasexuality of the Obama crowd . They are weakened America immeasurably . Is that what we want ? Putin is a far better model for national leadership in many ways. We need to form alliance with him and Russian , not confrontation . Obama is going to screw around and find the U.S. cut off from manned space flight , lose the ISS and we will find our critical back door access to Afghanistan slammed shut . Is that what we want ? Better to make changes at home than worry about Ukraine abroad .

- Muslims in East China attack Chinese citizens with knives

- Joe “Boom Boom” Biden announces last week that ‘America will take Military action against Russia/Putin if they do not back out of the Ukraine”

- 1-2 days later Barack HUSSEIN Obama II says “America will NOT take military action” - (I am more flexible now after my re-erection)

“. I do not think Putin is seeking a return to the insanity of communism , which the entire world including Russians has seen is an utter failure and does not work .”

It worked just fine for the Soviets. Problem was they ran out of money because Reagan bankrupted them, which by the way is how you defeat communism.

Well, Obama decimated our military and bankrupted America and we can no longer fight that war. Meanwhile the old Soviets got rich in the private sector, regrouped and can now reconstitute the Soviet empire. And there isn’t a damn thing we can do about it.

Obama’s decisions to face down Putin with economic sanctions , and any other sanctions, simply moves Russia, China and Japan into a yet closer relationship...and puts the dollar at risk.

China overtook Germany this year as Russia's biggest buyer of oil....not to mention the agreement with Russia for 35 fighter Jets to China.

Russia's largest oil company CEO said... that if the US and Eu continued attempts to isolate Russia...they would move much faster with the Asian energy deals, military contracts and political Alliances.

So Obama’s already changing the political alliances and it's not favorable for the USA.....Obama fails to see the EU has more leverage with Putin then the US.....it's as if once again he's attempting to be the "Diplomatic Ring Leader" where he thinks he has more clout then he does....because EU clearly stated they would not go to war over Crimea nor Ukraine in Brussels..... They simply handed Obama the "Mike" so he could say it first.

Interesting post. The kind that makes one think and go “hmmmmm?”

I also agree that Putin wants the return of the Soviet Empire without the communism

I truly agree...however Obama greatly lacks any skill in dealing with the world as a whole.....look what he's now doing...traveling from one nation to another like he's campaigning with nothing but his motor mouth nobody cares to hear anymore...it's at best posturing before an uninterested world to save face, which he's long passed opportunity to do so. The EU understands perfectly the USA will not be in the fore front in world crisi's going forward.

FYI.......EC Summit in Brussels this week asked to spot vote what should be the response if Russia goes into Eastern ukraine.........here's the result which speaks volumes....they also stated they will Not go to war over Ukraine and the PM of Ukraine has announced this to the people there as well
