The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits rose less than expected last week, pointing to some underlying strength in the labor market.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 5,000 to a seasonally adjusted 320,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Claims for the week ended March 8 were unrevised.

Last week was unrevised for a change. But going up is good - apparently - or something. And about that chocolate ration . . .

Good thing employment is rising. The way meat prices are soaring, a second job will be needed just to buy it.

Good news: the immigrant Obamacare emergency room doctor reports that after a gallon of blood loss the gunshot victim is now bleeding a little less, so their health is finally showing some signs of strength.

Don’t believe the happy talk coming out of DC when it comes to the real unemployment rate and the true “Misery Index.” Because the figures are a fraud.

The actual unemployment rate is closer to 37 percent and the Misery Index is the worst in 40 years.

Good news! Joblessness is up LESS than expected. What they don't say is that 1.3 million people are being laid off a month and that doesn't include business owners who are closing their doors or private contractors that are shown the door and not resigned.
