Its time for downtown cabbies to clean up their act, the city says.
In an effort to rein in taxi drivers who the city says soil Sacramentos reputation by offering poor or sloppy service, Sacramento officials have drawn up new ground rules: Drivers must wear collared shirts, slacks and closed-toed shoes. They must drive newer vehicles and keep them cleaner. They must accept credit cards. And they must take a test to prove they can speak some English and count change correctly.

Sounds racist to me. HA
When I was a kid, taxi drivers wore uniforms................................
Good luck with all that.
Reminds me of something which happened yesterday but did not involve a cab driver. Went to grocery store to purchase a loaf of bread. Proceeded to check out. Total said a total so handed over a twenty and two cent. Was given thirty cents in my outstretched hand to receive my change. Looked at my change and said I know grocery prices are rising but nearly twenty bucks for a loaf of bread? Woe .... Miss Cashier! Has a new price scale been instituted overnight? She then realized her mistake and I left with my bread and the proper change. All the way to my vehicle was thinking ... I know it’s coming but today?
Are these private cab companies?
You can’t go to a private business and tell them how to run it.
“You must accept credit cards” LOL!!!!
They might check the cabbies at the Mpls airport...
would someone in Minn hail a cab with their dog and some Jack Daniels and post a thread and video clip?
collared shirt .check
But what about their turbans? Must they be clean as well?
This won’t fly. A middle school principal from Hempstead, Texas just got fired for telling students not to speak Spanish in the hallways.
If I had a kid in that school I’d tell him that every time he hears an Hispanic speaking Spanish he should translate it into a bunch of curse words. When the teachers scold him he could say “I’m just repeating what I think I heard.”
Are you talkin’ to me?
No English no license.
