Another? Another?!?!
Last year our premiums increased 40%, this year it’s gone up 38%! (Of course, ‘Progressives’ will tell you that is a decrease in the increase. BUT, 40% last year is less than 38% this year. Then again, liberals can’t do math.)
I cannot afford ANOTHER increase. I was once perfectly happy with my catastrophic policy.
Lots of folks are going to have to go to cash basis because insurance is unaffordable, especially when you pay a significant amount of your monthly income and get ‘nothing’ for it. When your premium is $450/month & your deductible is $2,500 and you need a $500 ultrasound which is not covered .... oh my (this was a real Obamabot’s situation on The Kelly File recently). ONE month’s premium + $50 would pay for that ultrasound and the rest of her premiums for the year would have covered treatment. Now she is scrounging, trying to come up with the money for the ultrasound .... (btw, her old, cancelled plan would have paid for the ultrasound). But hey, she’s got free birth control so all is well.
IMO, catastrophic policies should be available for cancer, heart issues, major operations, etc. Folks would likely be better off paying cash for the regular stuff .... lower prices because the docs don’t have to hire 10 clerks to wade through the 10,000 medical codes to file with the insurance companies, then wait for their money. Lower prices because consumers pay themselves and will compare prices. They will also be questioning possibly unnecessary procedures/tests and declining to pay for them ..... the costs of which they now don’t see when it’s hidden in insurance paying for everything.
