I don't think that's what happened in Ukraine...it was a violent take over regardless if or not the people were satisfied with the results or how corrupt the election might have been that gave them the President they despised....it was still THEIR election. Both sides used corruption in the run up to the election, and violence to that end which we see playing out as well now.
In my opinion some nations citizenry unfortunately think democracy is all about who wins rather than the balance of power, and they have little if any understanding of that.

They were parading with SS insignia, made the nazi salute and are ready to kill the “Zhyds”. One of them treated the actress M.Kunis, who is born in Ukraine, of “dirty Jewess”.
Pretty funny how Russian state-owned media tells the West that the Nazis have taken over Ukraine, while telling its domestic listeners the Jews have taken over.
