President Putin's response to the West's sanctions wasn't long in coming: He gave the West the finger.

OK, Sevastopol operates independently of Crimea. Not sure what difference this makes to Putin.

It has a separate political status. When Sevastopol joins Russia, it will join two existing cities of federal significance: Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Fixed it. Now what letter will Obama write?

Sounds like Sevastopol will have the same status as the Kalingrad outpost which is part of Russia.

Dear Putie...Come to the White House. We can have a beer...and maybe go golfing or to a basketball game.

About the tanks....I have several. Most depict my favorite teams. But I do have one with our dog Bo's picture on it. BO is a secret code name for Barak Obama. Did you catch that?

Only a country or a part of it can accede to Russia. Russia and Crimea must draw up a treaty, have their Parliaments ratify it and then work out the modalities for final accession. And Russia’s Constitutional Court will need to certify all the proper steps were followed. All this will take time.

No - it would actually become a federal city - Moscow is a federal subject apart from the surrounding Moscow Oblast and St. Petersburg - also the other federal city in Russia - is a federal subject separate from the surrounding Leningrad Oblast.

SAevastopol would have a similar status in Russia.

“Uh oh! Barry’s going to be pissed.”

Is he also pi$$ed by the yesterday referendum in Veneto, Italy?

The region and the city of Venice organized a referendum to separate themselves from Italy. 3.8 million eligible Veneto resident voters will now be able, until next Friday, to say if they would like to see the region an independent, sovereign and federative Republic of Veneto.

What’ Obama gonna do about that?

Who is your dog in this fight? Why the barely vieled enjoyment?

America hating Paulbot? Russian relatives? Just curious why you are cheering on Team KGB on a conservative website.

Kaliningrad is the dung hole backwater of European Russia. All the neighboring countries of it have significantly better standards of living. Nobody lives there that has other options and those who can get an EU passport leave. I wouldn’t wish that future on anybody.

"Dear Barack Barakovich, did you catch the meaning of my name? It comes from the verb "Puti" meaning "to be able to, can". Sending you a pic of my dogs, who will be deligted to meet Bo. Don't annoy them, they can also bite"

So the Soviet Union ran Konigsberg into the ground.
