The Russians’ excellent adventure in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1988, was pre-9/11. I don’t recall advocating our boots on the ground in Ukraine. That’s why I am advocating supplying small arms, possibly from Libya, to the Ukrainians. AFAIK, Ukraine has never invaded anyone. Nor have they harbored Islamic extremists. Looks like a win win to me. What’s not to like about Ukrainians destroying Putin’s reputation? He might get away with things in Chechnya. Ukraine and its Roman Catholics and Orthodox are quite a different story.
He might actually succeed at keeping the muslim slime from setting up terrorist camps there. Or are you proposing arming Chechen terrorists too?
