The bottom line is a lot of people, most the young, do not want to dish out any of their Starbucks and clubbing money for health insurance.

Even with “subsidies”, they wouldn’t actually be buying insurance in the form they expect it to be.
With a 5k deductible, they’d be out of pocket for most of the year anyway.

If this meant that 2/3 of the uninsured would sign up, then that would make the program a huge success. So far I think the results have been dramatically short of the hurdle in the headline of this story.

Remember, this is a survey result that says 33% will not sign up. Real world results, counting those that won’t/can’t pay and those lying on the survey will drive this above 50%.

And let's not forget that only a little over 1/4 of the people who've signed up for Barky-Care were originally uninsured... Meaning that about 73% of "subscribers" formerly had insurance that was cancelled due to Barky-Care... How better to pad their numbers than to kill off the competition, forcing people who want insurance to come to the government, hat in hand.

Veiled threats in the ads I've been hearing ..... "
even if you disagree, this is the LAW so sign up now ....." etc.
Looks like a significant number of people are saying nope, nope, nope.

“so is the November election.. “
Consider what this may mean for obozo if he is actually as toxic as he should be by then: His own side is going to HAVE TO differentiate themselves from him.
