Another freeper reported this 777-200ER had the oxygen bottle option, thus no generators.

I go with the Islamics thinking passenger death = OK and more terror. Perhaps they thought, depending on how things went, they might want them as hostages, or as shields to keep themselves alive. I guess things were going swimmingly enough for them to decide they didn't need shields or ransom tokens.

If the plane landed somewhere, I'm pretty sure our spooks would want to see whose players are involved and how high up this would go, e.g., to the mullahocracy, AQ, or whomever. If a state is involved, it must be GAME ON!

I have every confidence many in the US know quite well what happened with this craft and are biding their time (if it's still intact and usable), or are checking over the debris field as we speak, if not.

> 7,700 nautical miles (14,300 km). In addition to breaking the eastbound great circle “distance without landing” record, the -200ER also holds the record for the longest ETOPS-related emergency flight diversion (177 minutes under one engine), on a United Airlines flight carrying 255 passengers on March 17, 2003, over the Pacific Ocean.

I would think you couldn't get under the ocean surface fast enough before the ELT would send out a couple of bleeps that would be satellite-received. Normally, automation would weed out such "tests" before SAR notices go out, but the powers-that-be would have that info to review, nonetheless.

Or are my thoughts even more "all wet" than I think?

I would have to agree with you, but keep in mind it also depends on where the satellites are in orbit around the Earth at the time of the crash.

Maybe no one flies a 777-200ER (elsewhere noted for its world record endurance) into Iran and some mullah decided that's the a/c "zey mustaf!"

Logical points - I pray you're right.

There was an article on the Drudgereport.com - stating that the family had moved the day before the plane incident.

It was there for several days; and it was in RED - which caused me to see it right away when I logged on.

“... searching for family ...”

I agree .. great questions.

And .. when did they find out the family was gone ..?? What do neighbors say ..??

Plus, when they went to search the house of the pilot, nobody said a word publically about the family not being at the house.

And .. I heard this morning that several FBI agents have been involved everywhere since this event with the airplane was first exposed. So, if the FBI went with the authorities to the house of the pilot .. that could be why we suddenly found out the family was gone.

I suppose that could be true.

I think that plane could disappear from Iran, and Iran could plausibly deny involvement - just about as well as they could with anything that they were actually involved in doing.

The government / intel agencies would know the truth. The news media would act to suppress the truth because it is BOTH sides best interests.

(AS WAS DONE WITH TWA 800 - The CIA zoom climb video on TV and spontaneous center fuel tank explosion was the truth?)

I’m going to go with the theory a hijacking attempt occurred, the passengers fought back a la flight 93, and the hijackers crashed it into the ocean.

A number of FReepers have expressed their opinion that the aircraft crashed, yet, no debris or other evidence of such.

Seems everyone wants to blame their enemy and get the USA to go to war. Sorry but we’re out of blood and treasure.
