The above is a representative post (#318) from the cited thread. There is a lively discussion there about the MH370 disappearance. A couple of forum members there are saying @flyingwithfish at Twitter has provided timely good information from the start. YMMV. Note: I am not a member of the airliners.net forum nor do I follow (nor am I:) @flyingwithfish, so this is just for FR's information/edification.

Dan Bongino, former Secret Service agent and now radio talk show host (mostly on WMAL), said today that his theory is that MH370 was trying to find another jumbo jet on an international flight in order to have a ‘mid-air collision’ with that airliner.

I thought about Dan’s scenario, and it could be possible, IMO, that they could have been looking for a Singapore Airlines, AirIndia or Qantas flight leaving that area (or that corridor) towards the US West Coast - or London - in order to ‘take it out’ in mid-flight.

Possible?

You know who will be a little bit pleased about this?

Non-muslim pilot candidates.

What airline —even those of Muslim countries— will deliberately seek out muzzie pilots, at least as enthusiastically as before..?

This scary episode will reinforce the idea; “Muslim = potentially explosive person”

I think brash passengers will even inquire about the religion of the pilots, pre-flight.

I've never been able to hit a cell tower and get a call through at 35,000 feet (or even at 20,000) when operating at speed. They must have much better phones in Malaysian than I do…

I've received texts at 35,000 when I left my phone not in airplane mode.

Directly over Salt Lake City, DEN-SMF.
