What for? The constitution we have now isn’t followed, what makes you think a new one would be any different?
To date, I can't think of any elected official who refused to follow the results of a Constitutional election. The closest was when Harry Reid dragged his feet when seating Scott Brown in Massachusetts.
If we want to talk about a coup, let's see a replaced Senator refuse to leave his office.
