Not enough fuel onboard to make it there.
We don’t know exactly how much fuel was put on board the aircraft. For all we know the fuelers could have been in on it and topped of the tanks to max.
If the fuel loading was accurate. One guy in the ground could easily load more fuel. If that happened the pilots were in on it - whatever it is.
Do you think they could make it to Somalia? Then fly over Saudia Arabia or the Gulf and into Israeli air-space?
They could glide for a while without fuel if they’re high enough. All it takes is the proper attitude and trim.
I think there is just enough fuel to make it to Pakistan.. Flying conservatively not in the political sense.

Fully fueled, this airplane has a range of 8892 miles. They had enough to reach Beijing with the customary reserve. But who's to say somebody didn't arrange to have some extra pumped aboard at KUL?
