President Dad strikes again. Years on from the infamous terrorist fist-jab, Barack Obama has elaborated on his trademark bump, but in the most fatherly way possible, overusing the explosion maneuver like an old joke at the dinner table. Today, he deployed the trick on an unsuspecting White House guest, as he's made a habit of doing recently. Here he is at the State of the Union, pulling the same move with Republican Senator Mark Kirk, who at least knows what he's doing. It appears they may have practiced:
And from January, during a White House tour, Obama tries it out on a kid who could only struggle to keep up:
The surprise explosion: one step above "got your nose" or "pull my finger."
What else can he do besides lay down red lines?
He has a pen and a phone. He fist bumps. He likes red pencils.
That’s some legacy once the dust clears.
Oh, and golf balls.
Juvenile.
Obama’s on his way to being like a middle aged person in the 60’s saying “far out”, i.e., perceived as out of touch. But, he’s not there yet.
Y’know, the other day I saw that he was shopping at the Gap, which he said was one of his favorite stores. He also said, as I recall, “It’s been something like ten years since I shopped for myself.” And, “You mean you can sign on these credit card machines?”
He’s so far out of touch (from 2008—”Have you seen the price of arugula lately?”) that hopefully his base will notice... someday.
Looks like a symbolic smash and destroy to me.
Bet he wouldn’t do that to his bff Putin!
Not being a member of the Bloods or the Crips I don’t know the significance of this gang sign.
He’s so jiggy wid it, yo.
It’s not a gang sign. I see grandparents in the midewest do it. Obama is one of the least stereotypically black people in the country.
If it were George H.W. Bush he would have been ridiculed.
It looks like a gang sign to me.
the most mundane man to ever ‘hold’ the office
no gangs in the Mid-W..Grammiepapie gangs??
Ghetto trash.
I guarantee that you won't see O jumping out of a plane on his 80th birthday.
This motion is typically used to indicate the individuals proposed ease of completion through which an action was purportedly difficult to achieve.
while working as a prison warden. I wanted to interact with the inmates, to pay respect to them, and I could do that by giving them the fist bump.
That's because he's NOT black, in the traditional American upbringing sense.
