peculation was growing last night that American mercenaries had been deployed to Donetsk after videos emerged of unidentified armed men in the streets of the eastern Ukrainian city.

At least two videos published on YouTube earlier this week show burly, heavily armed soldiers with no insignia in the city, which has been gripped by pro-Moscow protests.

In one of the videos onlookers can be heard shouting 'Blackwater! Blackwater!' as the armed men, who wear no insignia, jog through the streets....

they would be better off going in covertly. This appears to be Putin generated propaganda.

Blackwater does not exist anymore. It was dissolved/assets sold due to liberal demonization of that company.

Blackwater Security was renamed “Xe Services” in 2009, and “Academi” in 2011. Founder Erik Prince retains the rights to the name Blackwater and has no affiliation with Academi.

They now provide law enforcement training, logistics, close quarter training, security services, security management, and full-service risk management consulting. This has taken them far away from their original Blackwater Security purposes.

The reason for this was effectively a hostile takeover by the US government, that would only allow Blackwater Security to continue to exist if the management divested themselves and they discontinued combat services.

Isnt there some group called “Executive Outcomes”, or something like that, that do something of the same thing? I remember a documentary on them, but that was years ago.
