Fair enough, and I certainly agree about open debate. And it’s still early in the game, so everyone knows these polls are meaningless for any other purpose than chatter.

But the dilemma will be how to avoid a repeat of the circular firing squad where conservatives, liberatarians, and moderate “Reagan Democrat types” who are sick and tires of Obama and his brand of “hopey changey” will sacrifice the good for the sake of the perfect. Some are going to jump on every Rand Paul thread with anti-libertarian hatred and some are going to maintain that Ted Cruz isn’t eligible to be POTUS right up to election day.

We need to remember who the real enemy is, and to bear the Buckley Rule in mind and get behind “the most conservative candidate THAT CAN WIN”.

I thought the last primary cycles was healthy.

Granted, Romney was NOT my man, but he was no Dole or McCain either.

We need to debate early...and hell, I would support the GOP Contenders announcing, and having debates in 40 Holiday Inns across the country over the next two years...before the Primaries.

there’s no way to know which candidate “can win” before the election is over. That is nothing more than a lie that the GOPe and the left wing media have sold, to automatically disqualify any candidate that doesn’t pander to their agenda. Not meant as an attack, but that’s the WRONG criteria for selecting a candidate.

With all due respect, the Buckley Rule is bullshit. We need to formulate a plan that gets a conservative into the white house ASAP.

That's the CONSERVATIVE Rule.

In 2012, there was no conservative nominated for office, and the best that GOP types had to offer was that we vote for a babykilling, gun-grabbing, homosexual agenda loving statist whom JimRob had previously said he would NOt ENDORSE. But Jimrob did,

So at that point, the FR position for getting a conservative into the white house was to unseat a sitting republican president.

Bullshit.

Romney lost because he wasn't conservative. We need never to backtrack from conservatism, even if our supposedly most stalwart defenders sacrifice their conservative principles in the face of republicanism. FR is NOT associated with ANY Political Party. Or don't you believe JimRob???
