To be more clear, here’s what the Rebbe said to the best of my knowledge (best of my knowledge not being good enough and this being in my own poor words).
Jewish people in Israel should be armed every day considering contemporary hostilities against them (little dilemma there, yes). Jewish lives are of the most importance. They should never give up any part of Israel to foreigners.
We are all aware on some level or other that G-d owns this world and also aware of who Israel was given to: the same people who belong in Israel now and later. Torah study and observance are also most important for Jewish people everywhere, because they will prepare themselves then prepare Israel. Time’s a-wastin’.
My own rant (from studies and watching events):
As for those of us in other nations, we should stop turning our nations into inhospitable slums. We should prepare our nations (to do what is good). I don’t see that happening.
We, as nations, and too many individuals are being bad and beggin’ for a beatin’, maybe in the near future (for one, being bad by perpetuating gossip filled with false, often subtle implications, supporting approved robberies against those not so reliant on appearances and least likely to defend themselves in officious circles). Who is aware of that? Many who are aware of that are taking a beating now and getting rewards later.
So they’re protesting in a country that hasn’t had a draft in almost 40 years against a country that has a draft but let them off the hook until now? Am I reading that right?
Well, I'd say they had better learn about those things. Israel is under a constant existential threat by the usual M.E. suspects.
