Preceeded just a few hours earlier by a M 6.3 - 13km N of Kunisaki-shi, Japan.

I’ve noticed that sometimes when you get one over on that side of the Pacific there is apt to be an “echo” quake over on this side shortly thereafter. Maybe the Oregon one was just such an echo.
