Airport security is a total joke from the no-fly lists to the gropers.
This was not a US flight, I don’t know if there are any groper in Malaysia where it originated. But I did read elsewhere that the airport security there is considered very good. FWIW.
Obviously the answer there would be to unionize them and pay three times what they are worth. Works so well for us.

Not long after the PanAm 103 attack, I was flying out of LAX and there were constant announcements advising passengers to "keep your hand luggage with you at all times".
Decided to go to the duty-free shop. It was packed and the "affirmative action" girl checking passports was telling folks to leave their luggage in the space behind her.
Amazingly there were about 20 bags there.
More interested in groping women and men and taking little old ladies that are 80 years old behind a wall and strip searching her. I REFUSE TO FLY. I will not subject myself to being groped and man handled any more. I last flew back in 2003 when me and my wife flew from Seattle to Tampa to visit her sister. We had a change in Philadelphia. In all that time we were subjected to groping and pawing by these thugs. I told my wife when we got back to Seattle that I would NEVER fly again. I was not going through that again. We have now been back home in Alabama for 8 years. My wife has flown back to Seattle twice to visit family. But I did not go. If I cannot drive, I ain’t going. I am not giving my money to go somewhere and be groped all the way there and back. They can rot in hell. I will not give a dime to these thugs again.
.........I propose we give the Jews (I use that word here respectfully) a contract for ALL airport security on the planet. Included in the contract would be a bonus of 1 billion dollars (roughly the cost of one airplane crash) each January 1 if there were no terrorists incidents the previous year
on the worlds airlines.
In pursuit of the billion buck bonus, the Jews would never allow another airliner to be brought down by terrorists!
Problem solved!
Another bonus: Unemployment in Israel drops to Zero. Plus, all terrorists they catch are turned over to a Mossad disposal unit.
