California’s Brown hears fracking gripes

In a year when California Democrats are worried about motivating their voters, Gov. Jerry Brown heard another unwelcome message Saturday: Some Democratic activists are bristling over his administration’s policies on hydraulic fracturing, or fracking. […]

State Democratic conventions can be boisterous gatherings, but the protesters provided an unscripted distraction in what was otherwise expected to be a unified show of support for the 75-year-old governor, who appears headed for an unprecedented fourth term in the heavily Democratic state.

Fracking “gets to the oil that is the dirtiest oil on the planet,” said delegate Ken Jones of Greenbrae in Marin County, who was among those waving signs. “It’s an unsafe practice. To allow it to continue, when we know it’s unsafe, is a crime.” …

“Marin County. Figures. Get rid of these anti-civilization lunatics.”

My daughter lives in Petaluma. They want to use existing rail that runs there from Marin, to offer commute service and thereby free up highway 101. So who’s trying their best to stop it? Answer: Marin County. They don’t want a train running through their communities.

Let them all walk everywhere. Barefoot of course since most modern shoes were made with petroleum based resins.

Democrats don't like oil. So ban any imports of oil into or out of California. Ban any use of products made from oil (very few products are not made of oil). Let's just simplify things, and ban Democrats.

Most people do not realize that on LA County beaches you can no longer throw a frisbee or football —to do so you risk a $150 ticket, or something.

SF is trying to make pet stores, bottled water and plastic bags illegal.

A BUNCH of others stuff, too.

On many beaches you can no longer have a bonfire.

Fracking “gets to the oil that is the dirtiest oil on the planet,”

That's OK, they'll filter out the dirt at the refinery.

I'm talking about Texas here: I spoke to an engineer yesterday who sits at fracking wells to keep equipment running if it falters, and I asked him what happens to the oil or gas that comes out of the completed well. It appears in most cases, tanks are erected at the well and product flows into the tanks. Then, tanker trucks come in and fill up and take the product to the oil refining plants in Texas City or near the Houston Ship Channel or some other Texas refining plant along the coast. Based on where the well is located, a pipe line might be put in to transfer the product.

If the California people think the gas and oil is dirty, then they should stay away from the wells where they have no right to be anyway and not open a valve on a tanker truck where they shouldn't be anyway. Those people are nuts.

Can you believe it?

In comparison to most Dims in CA, Brown is a Moderate Nazi.

He has vetoed two anti-gun bills that I know of and has been rhetorically strong against the hubris of excess government spending.

Not that he's some kinda Reagan mind you, but he's not EVERYTHING the communist left in CA wants.

I'm thinking he's the best we can hope for in CA....and that's the saddest commentary of all.

Wth all the environmental laws in place in California, it is still one of the most polluted states in the country. And it is run by Democrats.

Someone should write that article.

That retard never heard of refining, and if he did he didn't understand what it meant.

Definitely. Fracking oil is not the dirtiest, by no means. Bad choice of words by the democrats. They are the ones pushing bio-diesel, collecting used cooking oil from restaurants in California cities. Foul, nasty stuff. They'd rather play with that nasty used cooking oil, than the much cleaner fracking oil. Nothing wrong with recycling oil, but they're wrong to knock fracking. Hypocrites.

Sure, Ken. Whatever you say. You sound like a real petroleum expert to me. I'm sure living in Marin County makes you authoritative on the subject.
