I agree with you there. Why do we allow the liberals to take the high road in matters such as this? No conservative that I know would go for animals being abused in any way and the idea of chickens being cooped up in a cage their entire lives just so that they can produce eggs more efficiently sickens me.
Agreed. I have no problem paying $5 a dozen for local farm raised eggs. The yolks are deep orange, the whites are firmer, and they’re just darned good. I would never go back to mass produced eggs.
And, the law CA passed does seem to be in violation of the interstate commerce clause. I’m not sure how requiring growing conditions of another state wishing to trade with you, for example, is any different than levying a tariff. That is in essence what they are doing.
I’m in California. I always bought cage free organic eggs, because I don’t think it’s right to mistreat animals. The price of eggs didn’t go up noticeably, at least for me.
