The media made a huge deal about Dan Quayle, what a dunce he was, etc.

My recollection is that Quayle did not misspell anything, nor did he think that the U.S. was comprised of 57 states. The only mistake Quayle was guilty of was being a Republican.

Exactly right. The media decided from day one that he was a buffoon and apoor choice for Bush Sr. Running mate.

on top of that, how in the world does he get the lyrics to a classic pop song wrong? he didn't even need to know how to spell RESPECT... all he had to so was say the lyrics... ugh... he is awful in every way...
