The media made a huge deal about Dan Quayle, what a dunce he was, etc. My recollection is that Quayle did not misspell anything, nor did he think that the U.S. was comprised of 57 states. The only mistake Quayle was guilty of was being a Republican.

nor did he think that the U.S. was comprised of 57 states. on top of that, how in the world does he get the lyrics to a classic pop song wrong? he didn't even need to know how to spell RESPECT... all he had to so was say the lyrics... ugh... he is awful in every way...
