If 2016 brings another Bush-Clinton matchup, not all famous last names are equal at the start.
The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll makes clear why its better to be associated with the 42nd president than the 43rd and 41st, at least for now.
The poll has plenty of good news for Hillary Rodham Clinton. Two-thirds of Americans say theyd consider voting for Clinton in 2016, and a full 25 percent say they will definitely support her. Again, among all Americans not just Democrats, or Democrats and independents one in four say they are fully on board for Hillary Clinton right now, no questions asked.
As for Jeb Bush? He has the rock-solid support of just 6 percent, a level that puts him alongside Mike Huckabee and Gov. Chris Christie. He ranks below Sen. Rand Paul, and even Mitt Romney.
Whats worse for him, nearly half of Americans 48 percent in the poll say they will definitely not support the former Florida governor for president. The only other person who matches that rule-out rate in the poll is Romney, whom Americans, of course, rather recently went on record not supporting. He is highly unlikely to run again in any event.

Well, it is all moot. The Romney-Priebus rules will result in whatever empty suit or stuffed cadaver they want as a candidate. Pretty much like last time, but actually legitimized.
The fix in is. Jeb will keep his head down and eventually win the nomination as the last man standing.
“Two-thirds of Americans say theyd consider voting for Clinton in 2016, and a full 25 percent say they will definitely support her. “
The KEY is the LAST part of the statement.
I would consider voting for Hillary in 2016.
.................................
There I considered it and now I would NEVER vote for that lying left-wing manipulative b****!!!
If you can’t out-poll The Huckster, your life in politics is over.
Heavens, why would a Democrat ask any questions. As long as there is a D after the name, pull the lever. No thinking required.
The poll is for all adults, not likely voters. In other words, a crap poll designed to make Clinton seem invulnerable or inevitable.
If I were polled, I’d tell them I’d vote for Hillary. I suspect that most conservatives would engage in misleading a Democratic pollster. I don’t think Hillary could win, but I didn’t think Obama would win, or Clinton, the second time. Apparently, I live in a fantasy world where 51% of the voters can spot a fraud. But, then the GOP has picked astonishingly weak candidates who were socialist-lite. Romney practically rivaled GHB in his second run where he appeared to be a corpse. Dole, dead on arrival. McCain, one foot in the grave and a pure socialist. (God? You there? What’s going on?)
The polls won’t stop Jeb from running or the Republicans from nominating him. He does not want to be president anyway. He desires and the Republicans believe he deserves the honor of the Nomination, however. Republicans do not want to win the Presidency because they believe that the Democrats are the legitimate Ruling Party and Republicans must always exist as a moderating influence on the true Rulers with well paid and comfortable sinecures and their share of the the corruption of DC. Christie seems to be next in line after Jeb and will probably get the Nom if something happens to Jeb.
Personally I would be disgusted and ashamed if I were a democrat voter. They don’t even pretend to have a choice any more. They just take whatever the party gives them and they go along with it.
Granted the GOP is obviously envious of that kind of mindless drone voter but at least we stand and fight them.
And no actual choice. It will be one or the other. And whoever it is will be dealing with Russian missiles in Ecuador and Mexico and Chinese occupation of the Philipines.
Jeb “el Heffe” Bush is an Amnesty kingpin.
NO Bushes.
Can’t disagree with any of what you wrote. The nomination is the gold watch.
There’s been plenty of argument in these and other parts as to the effect of Romney on Conservatives and how many stayed away from the polls and how many are peeved at those who did and the effect that produced, eg; the re-election of what’s-his-name.
If the GOP runs Jeb, the effect will be at least 3x as large. That would be a kamikaze move of towering finality and would damage the GOP beyond any sort of repair.
I agree with Jeb’s mother. And she doesn’t get a “do-over”.
Terri Schiavo says “no way”.
Read the link I posted. The writre feels Hillary could be a disaster for the Dems.
