Billionaire businessman Donald Trump ditched the teleprompter at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday and received huge ovations as he slammed President Barack Obama's leadership both at home and abroad.

"We have so many problems — and we have so little leadership," Trump said at the session in suburban Washington. "It's all about the leadership."

He cited China's move this week to devalue its currency against the American dollar, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin's assault on Ukraine as examples of the United States' decline as a world power.

"The reason why they're doing it is because our leadership is so weak and so pathetic that they can get away with it," Trump said regarding China's currency devaluation. "Believe me, they're taking our jobs — and they're taking them, big league.

Trump is making more sense than any candidate I've heard in a long time.

I don't think he's a social conservative, but He loves America and he knows what's needed to make us strong again.

Why would they allow this moron to speak at CPAC? He deliberately sabotaged the GOP in 2012, he switched parties every 4 years, and he has no interest in politics besides self promotion. Plus, he’s a mega-idiot.

I certainly think he can make decisions and also knows the benefit of advisors. His show shows how he operates in the realm of decision making.

"Tell me..."

"What do you think..."

"Who do you think...."

Then the decision is his..."You're fired!!

Nor is he an economic conservative, nor a small government conservative…he’s not conservtive at all. He’s a deal maker with government….and thinks he can go and cut deals with all governments all over the place and make everything better in Trump-topia.

Putin wears combat boots. Obama wears high heels and thong panties. You can guess the rest.

Trump is a Capitalist—big time. I would rather have him in the White House than a whole lot of people who live in Washington DC. He would be 1,000% better than Obama—BUT that being said—if Trump wants to play in this game he should become a Governor of a troubled state (New York maybe) Fix it and turn it around before I would give him the keys to the White House.

He bashed amnesty last year.

He should threaten to run third party if the GOP passes amnesty before 2016.

Well, the fact is, Trump has recognized jobs as being the biggest issue. Which I agree with 100%. And neither party has been talking about that.

And Trump has a plan. He's focused on the international trade and stopping the off-shoring of our businesses. Again I agree with him 100%.

And he doesn't think cutting Medicare and Social Security is necessary. He thinks if we make our economy strong we can affod those programs with ease. And I again I agree with him.

That is a winnable platform. Any republican that wants to cut entitlements is going to lose out the gate. Any republican that doesn't offer a jobs plan will be offering nothing more than more Hope and Change.

The people who aren't focused on American industry and jobs, are enabling Big Government. Free Traders are the biggest enablers of big government there is.

Trump may not be small government, but if he fixes the economy and puts people back to work, he will have accomplished a major major reduction in our government. And he will have restored us to the path to financial health.

He bashed amnesty last year.

In the article he spoke out against illegal immigration, saying we are only a country if we have borders.

Sums it up nicely. He does give good speeches but I don’t think the man has character or principles.

Yep, and he’s not only right but Putin isn’t done, not by a long shot. He’s proven who’s got the biggest one, and was smart enough to back off with a win after the ruble only got moderately hammered. He’s not going to wreck the Russian economy over ideology, but he’s the cat and Obama is the mouse.

"Why would they allow this moron to speak at CPAC?"

Because he spoke more truth than most of our candidates?

How many of our Republican leaders took Obama to task for his lack of documentation? Trump did.

Why do you say Trump sabotaged the GOP in 2012? The gay media did a great job of sabotaging us. They pushed Romney for 6 years and picked off every conservative that gained traction. That wasn't Trump.
