The translation is a bit rough and the photos are disturbingly graphic. But, read on to get right down in the Maydan (square) and live the unfiltered story of what it is like to put your life on for freedom.

"On photo some kid passing by bodies of dead boys killed by police fire arms on February 18 in downtown in Kiev. I bet this image will haunt him for the rest of his days."

"Bunch of policemen captured and beaten by protesters. Particulary those policemen were beaten up for throwing grenades down from roof of 5 store building into crowd of people.
Every time protesters captured police they had to release them and after police had captured protesters they were throwing them to jail."

I have been going to this site for months. Actually, I started going back when she posted pictures of Chernobyl years ago. It is a good site to keep up with the news from The Ukraine.

Did you read her essay on the Ukraine problem? It reminds me of what’s going on here in a way.

Interesting ingredients for the molotov cocktails. I wonder if those beads are styrofoam or something else that will jelli the gasoline?

"It reminds me of what’s going on here in a way."

That's exactly why I posted it. After a friend sent me the link a few days ago I haven't been able to get it off my mind. The pictures of the flaming square at night, the children walking past bodies of other children and civilian patriots capturing police all seem like something from a fiction novel. Yet here it is in real life and I found myself day dreaming about what could happen here. In so doing I could envision where I would be and wondered who I know that would be there with me.

Maybe soap flakes?
Could be styrofoam I suppose.

Great teaching aid. There ARE ways to fight back.
They sure laid enough on them to be effective.

I am not sure what they are, but it makes the gasoline “stick” to clothing, and the fire it makes is resistant to fire extinguishers. Not a chemist, just what one protester explained.

Too bad the biker chick didn't comment more about the image.

How she described the Ukrainian president is what made an impression on me.
